There Is No Such Thing As Writer’s Block
By Coach Michael Taylor
Let me gently challenge a common belief that many writers hold dear:
Writer’s block isn’t real.
It may feel real. It may even feel like a creative dead end. But from my perspective, writer’s block is not a thing that happens to us—it's something we unknowingly create within us.
Whenever we say, “I have writer’s block,” we’re not naming a condition—we’re activating a limitation.
We’re telling our subconscious mind, “I am stuck,” and the subconscious responds, “Got it! Stuck we shall be.”
But here’s the truth I’ve learned after writing a new book every year for the past twelve years:
The words are always there. The ideas are always flowing.
The question is—are we quiet enough to receive them?
You see, I don’t write from a place of mental strain or creative pressure. I write from a place of divine stillness. I’ve learned that my best ideas don’t come when I’m “trying” to be creative—they come when I stop trying and start listening.
That’s where meditation comes in.
Meditation is not just a tool for stress relief or spiritual alignment—it’s also a gateway to creativity. It clears the static, calms the noise, and opens the portal to the Divine Mind. When we sit in silence, we invite inspiration to enter. We make space for our Divine Self to speak.
Every idea I’ve ever written, every insight I’ve ever shared, has come from this place of stillness. I don’t “think” my books into existence. I receive them. I download them. I let them come through me like sacred whispers from a higher realm.
So the next time you feel creatively blocked, don’t panic. Don’t push. Don’t label it.
Just pause.
Breathe.
Be still.
Because writer’s block is not the absence of ideas—it's the absence of inner quiet.
And the moment you quiet your ego mind, the Divine Mind will pour through with more wisdom and creativity than you could ever imagine.
There is no such thing as writer’s block.
There is only disconnection from the Source of all inspiration.
Reconnection is just one breath away.
